1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Star Selections (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Astro Seek mobile application and related website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information you provide

To generate a chart and reading, the Service asks you for astrological birth details. You may also contact us directly.

Birth details — your name or nickname, date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. These are used to calculate your natal chart.
Charts you create — details you enter for other people (for example, in a synastry or parent–child chart). You are responsible for having a basis to enter another person’s details.
Account information — if you create an account, the identifier and credentials you register.
Support messages — the contents of any email or form you send us.
Payment details — if you make a purchase, payment is handled by the app store or a third-party processor; we do not receive or store your full card number.

Birth time and birth place can be considered sensitive in some regions. We use them only to calculate and interpret charts, and to provide the features you ask for.

3. Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, some information is collected automatically by us and by the providers we rely on:

Device & technical data — device model, operating system and version, language, app version, and similar identifiers.
Usage data — screens viewed, features used, taps, session length, and similar analytics events used to understand and improve the app.
Approximate location — derived from your IP address (not precise GPS, unless you separately grant location permission).
Diagnostics — crash logs and performance data that help us fix problems.
Cookies & local storage — the app uses a web view; cookies and local storage may be used to keep you signed in and remember preferences.

4. How we use your information

To calculate your natal chart and generate the astrological readings and interpretations you request.
To operate, maintain, and secure the Service.
To analyse usage so we can improve features, fix bugs, and measure performance.
To respond to your support requests.
To process purchases and prevent fraud, where applicable.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

5. AI-generated readings

The Service uses automated and AI-assisted analysis to turn your chart into a written interpretation. To do this, the relevant chart data (such as planetary placements derived from your birth details) may be processed by us and by a third-party AI provider acting on our behalf. These readings are generated for insight and entertainment and are not professional advice. We do not use your birth details to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

6. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

Each provider is permitted to use the data only to perform services for us, under their own privacy and security obligations.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Charts and account data are retained while your account is active. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Your rights).

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can also opt out of analytics where offered in your device or app settings.

EU/UK (GDPR) — our legal bases are your consent, performance of our agreement with you, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA) — we do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International data transfers

We operate internationally, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Third-party links and content

The Service may display content or links from third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
